Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Caylent.
Data Architect
The interview process was pretty intense and focused a lot on systems design, covering both general theory and specific AWS topics related to architecture. The quality of the team was really high, better than other places I interviewed. I was super impressed and happy to get the offer.
- Could you outline the design for a complete data pipeline using AWS services?
Principal Architect
I went through 3 interviews: first a recruiter call, then a chat with an architect, and finally a whiteboard session with two architects. The recruiter said I did great, told me the pay, and asked about my start date. Then they said someone would call me after their vacation. After waiting a month, I emailed for an update and was told there was no change and no opportunity in the near future. I feel candidates deserve more respect. I will never work here.
- When would you be ready to start if this new opportunity is approved?
Architect
I went through 3 rounds of interviews. They were good interviews, designed to check my skills and experience. The process felt well put together. The people I interviewed with really knew their stuff, not just about the company but also how to assess a candidate. I received a good amount of feedback. All in all, it was a great experience!
- Can you discuss approaches to speeding up developer productivity?
- What measures do you take to guarantee high availability for systems?
- Could you outline your methods for deploying applications?
