Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cavender's.
Cashier
The interview was super easy. They asked typical questions like "Tell me about yourself" and "previous work experience?" It was a very relaxed interview that didn’t feel high stress. The people and employees were really personable and made the interview feel more like a conversation than anything.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
Cashier
Before you go in, turn your radio station to the country station and listen to 3 or 4 country songs to get you in the feel. Once that's over head over to the store and tell them you're waiting for your interview with the manager. They will call the manager over the phone and say it'll be about 10 minutes. You'll look around the store and want to buy something right away. Then the manager will come to you and bring you to the back. you're brought into the office. If you do great and answer all the questions you have the job after the interview. This family values since Cavender's is a family owned store.
- What are your goals?
Cashier
I put in an application online and then I got a call the very next morning asking me to come in for an interview that same day. The manager was a bit distracted so the interview went on for a really long time. Other employees kept coming in and interrupting. He didn't ask a whole lot, we mostly just talked.
- Can you describe your reliability?
- In what ways could you contribute to our store?
