The whole process took about a month from when I applied until the interview finished. It was a panel interview with three people, and they asked about 10 questions in total. The interview lasted for an hour. They wanted to know about my career history, my interests, some technical stuff for the job, how I handle supervision, partnerships, and safeguarding.

The interview process had 3 stages: first an HR Screening, then an interview with a Technical Manager and an informational interview, and finally a Panel Interview. The interview questions were mostly behavioral, but you could mention your technical skills when you first introduced yourself.

The HR person doing the screening was very unorganized. After an initial screening, I was told there would be a follow-up. A few weeks later, they scheduled another screening and asked me the same questions, seeming to forget about the initial screening. They rescheduled the screening multiple times, often at the last minute and without checking my availability first. On one occasion, they scheduled a screening for 2 am my time (EST). After several weeks with no follow-up, we moved to a panel interview, which they again scheduled without confirming my availability first. The panel interview itself was fine, but the experience had put me off enough that I wasn't very invested. After the panel interview, I was told there would be more follow-up, but I never heard anything again, not even a formal rejection after more than 3 rounds of interviews.

About 2-3 weeks after applying for a Business Development Specialist II, Proposal Writing job, I got a calendar invite for a phone screening. It was weird because it was just the invite with no actual email text. Usually, these invites have more details. The phone screen itself went fine. A couple of weeks later, I followed up with the recruiter since I hadn't heard anything, but they just ghosted me and never responded. I figured if that's how they treated me during the application, it might be a sign of how things are if I worked there. Given CRS's reputation and the work they do, they should really ensure their recruiters make a good first impression and be aware that not all recruiters are great for their image.
