Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Catholic Charities USA.
Case Manager
The interview involved a panel setup with a few interviewers. There were two interview rounds in total. They were interested in my past case management experience and any additional languages I speak besides English. Overall, it was a good experience.
- What is your previous work history?
- What languages do you speak besides English?
- Tell me about your previous case management experience.
Case Manager
Because this was for an emergency, temporary project, the interview process was a bit different than usual for the company. They do respond to disasters with new programs sometimes, so this might happen again. I was referred by someone who had the skills for the project manager position, and since it needed to be filled right away, the manager met with me briefly on site, was friendly but professional, and reviewed my credentials. Then, I decided to volunteer and was trained for a week before they officially hired me. I did have to give HR my documentation and proof of education.
- What is your approach to managing challenging client interactions where clients might be angry or threatening?
Case Manager
I got a call for an interview, then I went in and they asked me about everything on my resume. After that, the interviewer went over the job duties and the benefits. The very next day, I got a letter saying I wouldn't be called for another interview. The office felt a bit old but the people were nice enough.
- Can you describe your experience working with cases?
- What strategies would you use to recruit new volunteers?
