First I submitted my application online, along with my resume and cover letter. Within a week, HR reached out for a phone screening. About a week after that, I had an in-person interview with the department manager. Then, they asked for 3 professional references, and they all got contacted. Finally, HR let me know their decision within 10 days of the in-person interview.

Behavioral Other

I submitted my application and after a few weeks, I got an email from someone who was arranging interviews for the hiring manager. Once we agreed on a time, he instructed me to call the interviewer at the scheduled time. This seemed odd to me since they were the ones looking to hire someone, not the other way around. The call took about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, I never heard back from them, not even to let me know I wasn't selected to move forward. It's quite a lack of consideration! It's surprising that an organization that does so much good for people in need would treat potential employees this way. I thought they were all about empathy for those struggling, but they can't even show basic courtesy to a job candidate.

The supervisor took me to an empty office and then asked me several questions in regards to why I should be hired, what experience I have had, and any hands on experience with any other non-profit organization within this community.

It was a thorough and informative interview. I did several music samples, including singing, piano, and organ. I got to ask a lot of questions, and they were all answered fully. I felt comfortable the whole time.
