First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Catena Media.
Software Engineer
I went through a few rounds of interviews at Catena Media. It started with a call from the recruiter, then a team interview where they assessed my performance, and after that a skills test with the Hiring Manager. The last step was another interview with the Hiring Manager and HR. Every step was pretty standard, and they communicated well throughout. It was a structured process overall, but nothing really stood out. I didn't end up getting an offer, but the experience was fine, no major problems.
- Describe a challenging problem from a recent project and how you resolved it.

The interviewers were great, which makes me think they have a good company culture. The questions were good and they seemed really interested in my answers. The whole thing finished on time, and they didn't rush me at all. Honestly, it was a really good experience, very fair and not too many difficult steps.
- Can you describe the different types of content you've created in past jobs?
Community Manager
Multiple calls plus an exam. They insisted on calling multiple times just to discuss the scope of work and scheduled a pre-interview last minute. It was unprofessional of them and inconsiderate of my time.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience working in social media?

The interview process involves three interviews: first with HR to explain the job, second with the team manager, and a third where you present your assessment test to the manager and HR. This feels inefficient, as the first two could be combined. All meetings must happen during work hours (9-5), which is inconvenient. They also cold-call without asking for a good time, risking your current manager noticing your job search. The assessment test should ideally be done before these meetings to save time. HR's description of the job was unclear, leading to confusion about daily tasks and people leaving because the job wasn't what they expected. Post-offer, they pressure you to accept within 24 hours, which seems excessive.
- Can you share your experience and how you've dealt with past conflicts among team members?
