There wasn't really a connection between recruiting and the sales team. I spoke with recruiters for two different roles, but I never got a second interview for either, even though I'm clearly qualified. I tried reaching out to the recruiters multiple times, but they never responded. It felt like a waste of my time and effort!

So after you apply, first there's this video thing where you answer questions on video. That didn't work for me, so they switched me to a Zoom interview. It was more just talking, no set questions, but we talked about developing teachers and adult learning. To finish, we did this role-play thing where they gave me a scenario and 10 minutes to prep. Since I'm a school person, the principal at the school I'd be at had the final say, so they sent my info to them.

It was a really chill and nice interview. The person interviewing me knew their stuff and had a lot of experience. They asked some good, open-ended questions that made me think and led to more discussion. The job was about using a different way of teaching, and I was a bit unsure if I was a good fit. The interviewer seemed to get that and explained the thinking behind their chosen method. They were super helpful and really represented Catapult Education well.

The interview started with a casual chat to get to know each other. Then, I was asked to talk about myself and share details about my experience as a teacher and my approach to teaching. We also went over how I'd manage situations with misbehaving children. The conversation included discussions about salary expectations, preferred working hours, and the proximity of the closest school they work with.

  • Could you describe your general approach to teaching?
