Paid Search Associate
Had an employee referral, so the formal process kicked off just before graduation. Started with a quick phone call about my background. Then, about a week before graduating, I had an interview at the GroupM office. I met with different teams from various sister agencies. The interview was planned for 1.5 hours, but they brought in two extra people, so it ended up being 2 hours. Each meeting was about 20-30 minutes. I mostly had 1-on-1s with directors to associates, though one meeting involved two people. It was pretty informal; I wore a suit, but others were in jeans and even shorts. They asked standard questions about my background, my interest in the company/media, and talked more about the role and their accounts.
- What makes you want to pursue a career in the media industry?
- Could you describe your proficiency with Microsoft Excel?
Account Coordinator
My initial phone screen was pretty relaxed. The interviewer seemed really enthusiastic and easy to talk to, which made it feel less nerve-wracking. It was mostly about getting to know each other, and it took about half an hour. We covered my resume, what I'm looking for, and my interest in joining Catalyst.
- What is your motivation for wanting to join Catalyst?
Account Manager
I found the job on LinkedIn and sent in my resume. The next day, HR called for a quick chat about my background and what I was looking for. Then, I scheduled a phone interview with my future boss for the next day. That went well, so we set up an in-person interview for a day or two later. I met with my direct report and another team member during the face-to-face. They made a verbal offer, then I got the formal one, accepted, and started a couple of weeks later.
- Tell me about your experience with executing and managing campaigns.
- Can you share an example of a situation you encountered and how you dealt with it?
- What are your thoughts on leadership in this role?
Paid Search Specialist
The interview process involved meeting with several different teams across all the GroupM agencies. Each team asked questions specific to their team's needs. The vibe of each interview was up to the interviewer.
- What metrics did you use to evaluate the success of your previous projects and campaigns?
