First, there was a screening interview. Then, an exam that covered critical thinking, writing, finance and accounting, and economics. Finally, a panel interview with managers and directors where I had to think on my feet and answer finance, economics, and general behavioral questions.

Technical Case Presentation

It was a pretty intense interview process with 4 interviews total. Two were with potential teammates and two were with senior staff. They looked at both my sector-specific knowledge and my broader economic reasoning. The senior staff interviews were meant to gauge my resourcefulness and could get a bit challenging. There was also a test: a written case study and an easy Excel task. The written part, with 4-5 questions on a case, aimed to check how I think, write, and my knowledge of the sector. After that, there was a feedback session with the hiring manager to discuss and potentially revise my answers. I felt the case study lacked enough information to get the expected answers, but that might change.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

You'll start with a call with a Director to see if you're a good fit and talk about your background, covering some theoretical stuff. Then, you'll have another chat with a manager where they'll only ask theoretical questions and give you a case study on tariffs. If you do well in those first two parts, there's a written test on accounting, corporate finance, and writing. After you submit that, you'll have an interview with HR about the 6 Cs of Castalia. Lastly, there's a final interview with the CEO, mostly to get acquainted, but they'll also ask about public finance.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • Can you explain WACC?
  • What are public goods?
  • Describe financial statements.
