First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cassiday Schade.
Attorney
I had a face-to-face meeting with the partners at their St. Louis office that lasted about an hour. A few weeks later, I got a letter in the mail saying they weren't moving forward with my application.
- Have you ever billed hours and what was your yearly billing average?
Attorney
It was pretty tacky. They flew 30-40 students from out of state to Chicago for what was likely a single position's preliminary interview. The interview was on a Saturday, and it would have been nice to get a heads-up. During the interview, they had a paper with candidates' names and two boxes: yes or no. SO TACKY!
- Why are you interested in this firm?
Associate
They asked pretty standard questions, honestly. It's what you'd expect for any associate role out there. Just prep like you would for any other company. Nothing weird or out of the ordinary happened, really.
- Were there any standard questions asked for an associate role?
- Is there anything unusual or unexpected you encountered during the interview process?
Associate
The first step was an interview with two associates. A week later, I was invited back for a second interview with two partners. Both interviews were about 30 minutes long and covered general topics.
- Why are you interested in our firm?
- What area of law do you see yourself practicing?
