Caspio Interview Questions
& Process

There were a few interviews. First, HR, then an online assessment, then a coding test, then a technical interview, and finally a manager interview, after which I got the job offer. The coding test was the hardest part, so I'd brush up on JS or PHP and be ready to explain your code as you write it.

The office is located in a decent building on Ayala Avenue, but the Caspio unit needs some work. The interviewers were quite frank, and if you got them talking, you'd realize it's probably a dead-end job with no room for growth and a very high turnover rate. The state of the office suggests the company isn't investing much in its Manila operations. The HR interview felt unprofessional, with questions unrelated to the job. The interview with the line manager, who is based in California, was also poorly executed. They seemed to just read from a list and lacked engagement, showing disinterest even over Skype. Office morale appeared low, and for a tech company, the environment felt outdated. Business also seems to be declining, despite claims of recent expansion. In today's job market, companies need to attract candidates, not act like they're doing them a favor.

So after the recruiter called me, we did a Technical Phone screen pretty fast. They hit me with some basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript stuff. Then, I went onsite and did 4 rounds, 2 of which were Technical. You'd think that's it after the onsite, right? But nope, they threw 2 more Assessment Tests at me, which I had to finish in 3 days. One was a 1-hour logical reasoning thing, and the other involved building a sample contact management app using Caspio. Honestly, 3 days is way too short to build that app, especially with our work schedules. It felt like a dumb process, testing stuff after the onsite. Total waste of time interviewing with Caspio, and their pay is super low.

HR first reached out for an initial phone screen, followed by a conversation with the hiring manager. After a positive phone interview, a 1:1 interview was scheduled. The process felt moderate, not as difficult as some reviews suggested (perhaps a different manager). Everything moved quickly and smoothly. I received the job offer the day after the 1:1 interview, which was fantastic!
