First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Casey Family Programs.
Business Analyst
The interview was a Zoom meeting with peers and a manager. They were quick with scheduling and feedback. They answered my questions and explained the role and responsibilities well. Overall, it was a good experience.
- Tell me about a project you're proud of from your past experience.
Human Resources
It was a very pleasant experience. The questions were not at all difficult; the interviewers were very genuine, open, and honest. I felt very comfortable during the interview. I ultimately got the job.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your interest in joining our company?
Administrative Specialist
I applied online, had a phone interview with HR, and then if I was selected, I had an interview with my potential peer-level co-employees. Usually, HR interviews first, then it's top-down, but it seems some companies value the opinion of subordinates in the decision-making process. I've had places not move me forward and just send a rejection letter or not call at all. Heidi, the HR Specialist, personally called me to let me know I wasn't moving forward, which was impressive.
- Tell me about yourself.
Social Worker
The interview process was pretty typical. When I arrived, they gave me about 15 minutes to review the questions they would be asking. I was interviewed by a team of 6 social workers and they asked about 15 questions. It seemed like a casual work environment, and everyone was pleasant. After the interview, they immediately called me to schedule a second interview with the Manager and some directors. This second interview was a week later, and again, they gave me 15 minutes to look over the questions beforehand. This time, three upper management folks interviewed me and asked about 5 or 6 questions in total. This interview was also pretty casual. In the end, I didn't get the job because they decided to hire someone with specific foster care experience, which wasn't mentioned in the job description or during the first interview, despite my 8+ years of relevant experience. This was frustrating as it felt like a waste of time, especially since they knew from the start I didn't have that specific background. They told me I did great in both interviews and fit the team, but I didn't get the position due to the lack of foster care experience. It would have been better if they had asked about foster care experience in the first round so we could have avoided the second interview.
- Did you have any specific experience working with foster kids?
