First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Carvel.
Manager
The process was really smooth and everyone I interacted with was very pleasant. They were interested in learning about my past experiences and my approach to problem-solving. The interviewers were attentive, asked insightful follow-up questions, and gave me the space to explain my thoughts. I also had the opportunity to ask them my own questions.
- Can you describe a time you had to manage a challenging situation like X?
- How would you approach situation X?
Cashier
It was a really chill and great experience with the manager. The trainer was super fun, and I really enjoyed tasting and sampling the ice cream during my training. The most fun part of the training was making the cakes, and practicing swirling was the trickiest part. The swirls are tough, but it's super fun once you get the hang of it.
- What made you want to work at Carvel?
Team Member
The interview process was very fast and efficient. The owner of the company interviewed me and was very nice and made me feel welcome. There was only one interview round, which made things go quickly.
- How do you deal with pressure at work?
Cashier
They asked me if I’m willing to work after hours for no overtime pay. The guy was very rude and obnoxious and pretended that he didn’t need a new employee even though he offered the job at the end.
- Are you willing to work when your shift is over if you are not paid overtime?
