Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Carter's.
Intern
I had a basic screening call over the phone. It was mostly getting to know you questions, nothing too tricky. They wanted to learn more about me as a student and what I'm looking for in an internship.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What's your experience with Excel?
Intern
First, I had a call with the HR rep from the college. Then, I went into the office for four interviews. One was with HR, two were with the managers I would be working with, and the last one was with the director of the team. All the interviews were professional and direct. The challenging part was that they were back-to-back with hardly any breaks!
- Walk me through your resume and explain your experiences.
- Tell me about the tools you have used or are familiar with.
- What are your goals for this internship?
Intern
The interview started and the interviewer mentioned she would interview me for a position in a totally different department without any prior notice. It was in a field completely outside my expertise, and I was totally unprepared.
- Could you tell us what motivated you to apply for this role?
