So the process was: first a recruiter screening, then a 3-hour coding session or take-home project, followed by an interview with the hiring manager, and finally a panel interview. After that, the recruiter ghosted me. I really hate take-home projects that take more than an hour, and honestly I'd be surprised if anyone actually has the time to go through this whole process.

Behavioral Technical

There was just one round of interviews. They asked me a bunch of questions about my resume and experience, like why I chose my major, why I was interested in cars.com, and about my favorite project. Since I mentioned using Node.js, they dove deep into questions about that to make sure I really understood it. No algorithm questions were asked, and the whole thing took about 30 minutes.

Behavioral Technical Coding

First, I had a phone chat with the hiring manager, then a technical phone interview with a Senior Developer. After that, they sent me a coding test and said they wanted me to come in for a face-to-face to go over the code. I finished the code the same day, but after waiting a week without hearing back, they emailed to say they'd already filled the role. It felt like a waste of time since they didn't even let me finish the interview process.
