I got contacted for a phone screening, which turned out to be a Microsoft Teams call where we talked about my background. I answered everything they asked and it seemed okay until they asked about my previous salary and my expected salary for the new job. After I told them, the interviewer immediately said they couldn't afford that. I then asked for the salary range for the role to see if it was workable, but they wouldn't share it. I decided to end the interview after that.

The interview process involved a phone interview and an onsite interview with the Finance Manager and Finance Executive. Initially, there was a phone call with the recruiter to go over the job details. Then, a second phone call with the Finance Executive, who primarily discussed his career path and professional history. The in-person interview included an HR assistant, HR manager, finance manager, and finance executive. While the offices appear nice, be aware that the actual workspace is a cubicle in a large open area with approximately 50 other employees.

A recruiter from the company reached out and set up a phone screen. After that, I had a virtual interview with the hiring manager. Then, there were 4 more virtual interviews with team members and leadership. Unfortunately, after all that, I never heard back about the result. It took over 5 hours of my time. The communication was good when they were interested, but it seems to stop if they aren't. I really expected some kind of formal rejection after getting so far in their process, especially from a company with such a polished HR department.

I went through 4 virtual interviews and then a final on-site interview. After the on-site, I emailed the interviewers to thank them and they told me they were very impressed with my qualifications but that this process was more intensive than usual. They ended up choosing someone else without telling me. When I didn't hear back after my on-site, I reached out to them and that's when they told me they weren't moving forward with my application. It was a really draining and disappointing experience.
