Teaching Candidate
We had a video interview, and I spoke with an advisor one-on-one. We talked about my career preferences and experiences. By the end, it seemed like they were ready to move forward with me.
- Can you describe your educational philosophy?
Teacher Assistant
It was a long form to fill in but it asked for everything about your personal and professional profile. It took short time to answer me back, about 3-4 days only.
- How many years of teaching experience do you have?
Teacher
It was pretty relaxed. The interviewer had an info session at my school the night before, and I got to ask a lot of my questions then. She remembered me from the night before and we just picked up where we left off. If I hadn't had that chance to meet on campus, I would've had to do a phone interview.
- Why do you want to teach?
- What age range do you like working with?
- What classroom experience do you have?
Teacher
The application process began with on-campus recruiting via a college portal. The interview itself was quite relaxed, informal, and straightforward, mainly focusing on what I wanted from a teaching experience. We discussed my resume and my preferences for teaching.
- How would you persuade schools to disregard your lack of prior teaching experience?
