First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Carnegie Hall.
Trustee Administrator
The interview process was multi-step and everyone was well-informed about CH’s initiatives. We had collaborative team interviews and opportunities to speak with administration. CH is involved in many facets that allows for community supports and engagement opportunities.
- What motivates you to want to work at CH?
Usher
First, there was a phone screening, then an HR interview. After that, I had another meet and greet with the manager, and pretty soon I was hired within a couple of weeks. You just need to make sure you have some kind of music admin background and a nicely printed resume.
- Regarding your background, do you have any experience in music administration?
Coordinator
I was contacted by HR and had a brief phone call. Then I was called in for an in-person interview where I spoke with HR again, followed by a meeting with the department manager. The second round of interviews involved more department managers and the director of the department. After everything, I got an email from a temp in HR, someone I hadn't met before, saying "It was so nice to speak with you". The HR department at Carnegie Hall seems to be pretty much nonexistent and clearly has communication issues.
- Can you share an instance of a difficult situation you encountered, involving multiple challenges, and describe how you resolved it?
Project Manager
The interview was very easy and not technical. They asked me about Agile, PM process, and Issue & Risk Management. They also asked about my previous media management experience. It's good to go in with work examples to back up your experience. Be ready to talk about processes and methodologies.
- Can you describe yourself in three words?
