First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Carmel Partners.
Director, Asset Management
Had a bunch of interviews with different people. Talked to team members, people at my level, people from other teams, and some higher-ups. Everyone was really nice and seemed super smart and into their jobs. The company feels good, but I noticed a lack of diversity.
- Can you summarize your previous work experience?
Data Scientist
So the interview was pretty long, like 6 weeks total, with 4 interviews. There were 2 with the data science team, 1 with a VP, and 1 with HR. What was frustrating is they didn't tell me they chose someone else even though I was this far along. I had to chase HR twice to find out what was going on. It would've been nice if they were more upfront, especially since I told them I had other interviews and the job market was rough.
- Can you describe the tools you've used for research projects and detail how you applied them?
- Could you elaborate on the specific applications of the tools you've mentioned in your research projects?
Accountant
Started with a phone screen by HR, then met with the hiring manager, and finished with interviews with team members. It was a really positive experience overall, everyone was friendly and it wasn't too difficult. Just make sure you know the basics of accounting or whatever you're applying for.
- Can you walk me through the entire budgeting process?
Director of Development
So it was a pretty standard interview process with a few stages. First, I talked to a recruiter or HR person who does the initial screening. If they liked me, I then spoke with the hiring manager for the role. After that, the hiring manager had me meet with a few people from his team. I actually had to come back twice to meet with everyone and finish everything up.
- Can you identify neighborhoods with potential for development and explain your reasoning?
