First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Carlo's Bakery.
Programmer
A few days ago, I had the chance to interview with Carlo's Bakery, a place I've always admired for their baking. The interview was at one of their stores, and it felt really nice and professional. The store manager met me and was super friendly, making me feel comfortable right away. We started chatting casually about my past work, especially customer service and anything related to food.
- What would be your approach to handling an unhappy customer who is complaining about their order?
Nurse
Muy bien entrevista preguntas de mi profesion y experiencia laboral. Detalles de las fechas de trabajo hasta qu fecha. Motivo por querés trabajar en la Empresa. Habilidades blandas. Que me gusta de la empresa.
- Experiencia laboral.
- Tiempos de trabajos realizados.
- Disponibilidad laboral.
Sales Representative
The interview was very brief, maybe 10-15 minutes long, with only a few questions. I was interviewed by two people simultaneously. The interviewers came across as unprofessional and shallow, emphasizing the importance of appearance for the role. The male interviewer made inappropriate comments, referring to other sales representatives as 'my girls,' implying a preference for hiring attractive females. They proposed a working interview followed by training, with a starting salary of $25,000 plus commission after two months. I suspect this is a scam where they expect significant effort from employees with minimal company contribution.
- Are you able to work six to seven days per week?
Food Scientist
I had an in-person interview for a Food Scientist role at Carlo’s Bakery. The interviewer was late, which wasn't a great start. We had a good discussion about the position and the current issues at the facility, and I learned a lot about how the company operates. What surprised me was the lack of professionalism from the main office. Even though I prepared and went to the interview, I never heard back from them at all – no updates, no feedback, not even a simple email. It’s disappointing when a company expects experienced people to apply but doesn't show basic courtesy. Good communication is really important in hiring. I hope they improve their candidate experience.
