First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Caribou Biosciences.
Research Associate
After submitting my resume, I got my first interview offer in two weeks. I met with a Research Associate via Zoom. Then, I had a second interview with two people on a call, but I didn't make it to the final round.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Can you discuss animal ethics?
- Could you share your experiences with trials and errors in the lab?
Bioinformatics Intern
The interview process starts with a hiring manager chat to go over my background and see if I am a good fit. After that, there will be a panel interview with some of the team members to check my technical skills and if I work well with others.
- Were you open to moving from the East Coast to California for a short three-month period?
Research Associate
I applied on LinkedIn and got an email for a phone chat. After that, I had a second phone screen. Then, they offered me an on-site interview at their Berkeley HQ, which was 4 hours long and had 3 discussions. I then had to go to South SF for the final interview. I gave them my reference list during the on-site. HR said a decision would be made, but I haven't heard back in over 4 weeks, even though HR emailed to say I was still being considered.
- How do you handle disagreements?
Senior Manager
Started with a chat with the hiring manager, then met with people on the team and HR. The whole thing took under a month and went pretty smoothly. They let me know the timeline clearly and it was easy to schedule everything.
- Questions about behavioral aspects and core competencies.
