Cash Applications Specialist
The interview process kicked off with an assessment that included things like vocabulary and shape identification. Next, I chatted with two people from Talent Acquisition, and then I moved on to talk with the hiring manager. I got some really good feedback about 10-15 minutes after my chat with the hiring manager. They mentioned there might be a chance for a bigger role with a better salary. I was happy to offer my skills, but after a final interview with the CFO, things went quiet. I sent an email the next week asking for an update. They told me the CFO was out of office but I should hear back that week. After that, all communication stopped. It felt pretty unprofessional, honestly, which was a shame.

Software Engineer
The recruiter was good at first, had a quick chat to get to know me and explain the role, team, and company. After that, I did an online coding test and then scheduled a technical interview quite quickly. It was a panel interview with 3 interviewers who asked good questions. They seemed like nice people and were easy to talk to. I was asked some interesting questions that probed my knowledge, practical experience, and design skills as an engineer. They also made time to answer my questions. The recruiter managed the process well and helped me get ready for what to expect. Overall, it was a good experience, and I liked the company and the people I met.
- Questions focused on design and architecture
- Other technical subjects involving coding

CRM Administrator
I interviewed at Cargomatic a while back. It was the usual HR, hiring manager, director, and a board member chat. I did my homework on them, read about their past oopsies and comebacks, and still wanted to check them out. I brought up my worries with the director and they assured me it was just startup growing pains and they wouldn't repeat it. I was at a career stage where I could take a gamble and dive into something new, so I accepted the offer. Naturally, like any pro who knows their value, I countered. Instead of discussing it, they just pulled the offer with no explanation. I found that super unprofessional and honestly, I'm stumped by how they handled it. Turns out, it was a good thing that happened because of their reviews. They did me a favor and I dodged a bullet. Thanks, Cargomatics! They also seem to lean on their “board members” for decisions, which feels like an old-school way to run things. If you're mid to senior level, really look into their history and decide if you want to risk your career. The warning signs are there, don't ignore them. Know your worth and find a place that appreciates your skills.

Account Executive
The hiring process took ages, about 3 months, and I had to constantly follow up. It started when HR reached out about my resume. We discussed a few positions, and they asked me to find a role on their website that I liked and send it over, which I did. Later that week, I interviewed with the CPO to talk about the company and for them to get to know me, but they were still vague about the specific role. A few days later, I spoke with the hiring manager for account management, and we connected well, but then it stalled. I had to chase them 2-3 times before they mentioned they were still reviewing other candidates. Another two weeks passed, and then I was moved to another hiring manager in drayage operations. That was interview number 4, and I still didn't know what position I was actually interviewing for. After another two weeks of constant follow-ups, HR finally got back for references and background checks. I gave them the info and waited another week, following up again to mention I had another offer and needed them to speed things up. That's when HR told me they were going with someone else, without making me an offer. Apparently, my request to expedite caused issues with their reference checks. So, 3 months wasted on a company with unclear career paths and poor communication.
