First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CARFAX.
QA Specialist
I went through two phone calls. First one was with HR, and then the second one was with the hiring manager. They asked me general stuff about my experience and past jobs. After that, I had an in-person interview. It was with the hiring manager, a director, and two other managers. They asked some basic interview questions again, and then we went deeper into questions about what I know and what I can do.
- Can you share your experience with Salesforce and other CRM systems?
- What's your experience with Salesforce and other CRM platforms?
- Tell me about your experience with Salesforce and other CRM platforms.
Software QA Engineer
The interview process lasted for weeks and looked like it would continue for months. First meeting with HR. Second technical round with two QAs. Third another technical round with the manager. Fourth, another technical round with developers. Fifth chat call. Right before the chat call, the HR called and told me that she got a positive review and would hear back within 3 days. On the third day, when I called, the HR didn't tell me anything; instead, she told me there would be a chat call with the lead. The worst thing is this: I was told that the chat call was to talk about next steps, but on the chat call, I was told that they no longer have this position as they got a no from the management regarding the position, and I still see a new job posting for the same position, but the one to which I applied got expired.
- Java and Selenium questions along with live coding.
QA Manager
It was a panel interview where they wanted to check how well I understand QA strategies, methods, and governance. They also wanted to see my leadership skills, how I plan resources, and handle disagreements. I was asked about my experience with test automation implementation and my knowledge of Agile, specifically how QA fits into it.
- How do you handle team members who aren't performing well?
- What's your strategy for keeping test automation code maintainable?
- When requirements change mid-sprint, how do you deal with that?
