CareFlite Interview Questions
& Process

We had a mass interview that was set up in stages. First was a physical test, then a written test, followed by a one-on-one interview, and then a two-person interview. We also had scenario questions, uniform fitting, and a drug test with an immunization record check. Finally, there was a 3rd interview with management. The whole process took about 3 hours. The interview process was pretty intense, especially since this was my first EMT job. You should be ready to spend a good couple of hours there because they have you do a bunch of stuff. Right when I got there, I had to do a urine drug screen. Right after that, I had a panel interview with two shift supervisors. They mainly asked the usual interview questions like 'name a time when...' and 'describe a time...'. Then, I had to take a 50-question written test. After that, I tried on uniforms and did the physical agility test (they give you a video to prep you for this). The skills test was next, which was just a verbal test. They want to see how you think. Following the skills test, I had a second interview with a manager who asked more job-specific questions. After the second interview, I filled out some HR paperwork about my health, and that was it. I got a call about a week and a half after the interview.

I was really impressed with how organized and professional CareFlite was, especially compared to other EMS companies I've worked with. I applied for an EMT-Basic position, and usually, companies don't seem to value hiring Basics much. But at CareFlite, it was different. Even though there were about 40 of us for 20 spots, they had 5 stations. First, there was a tough written test, which I actually enjoyed. Then, I had a panel interview with two supervisors. They really seemed to want to get to know me and made me feel valued. They also did a good job of selling the company. After that, there was a drug test, a uniform fitting, and a straightforward skills test where I had to explain how I'd handle a bleeding scenario. Finally, there was a simple PT test. If they liked you, they'd call you for a second interview the same day. My second interview was with the manager, and it was pretty relaxed. He asked similar questions to the panel, like wanting to get to know me, giving another scenario, and asking about my personality and leadership. The whole day felt challenging but not intimidating because of the friendly atmosphere. They seem genuinely interested in finding good employees, and I was impressed.

The interview process had three main parts: first, an interview with the flight leadership team, then some medical scenarios using a sim manikin, and finally a 250-question written test. The whole thing took about 2-3 hours. The written test wasn't super easy but didn't have any tricky questions; it's definitely something you need to study for if you're applying for a flight nurse job. Overall, I thought it was pretty straightforward, especially for experienced ICU/ER nurses who could probably ace the scenarios and do well on the written part with some studying from a CFRN prep book.
