First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CareersUSA.
Account Executive
The interview process was smooth and conducted in person. Everyone was very kind and honest, and genuinely seemed invested in helping candidates succeed. The role was presented in a very transparent way. Overall, I loved the experience and received a job offer just an hour after my interview.
- What was your reasoning behind choosing your college major?
Branch Manager
The interview was short, under 20 minutes. They presented the job description in a very negative light to be honest about the career. They weren't interested in my past successes and didn't ask about them. They looked at my work history and just said I wasn't a fit. They need someone with sales, management, and recruiting experience, who will also accept 50k annually. Based on reviews and this interview, it seems like a bad opportunity for someone with those skills, as I know recruiters without sales or management experience who earn much more than 50k.
- Would you be okay with making 100 phone calls daily, including cold calls?
- How do you feel about the salary of 40-50k base with commission only upon hitting quota?
- What's the reason you left your last job?
Branch Manager
I got a call about an Assistant Branch Manager role, but after talking more, they suggested I interview for Branch Manager instead. The interview was scheduled, but oddly, at a restaurant instead of their office. It seemed like they were unhappy with the current manager and didn't want her to know they were looking to replace her, which I found a bit strange, but I went along with it. The interviewer started by giving a really negative view of the job, making it sound like the worst position ever. He talked for about 45 minutes. Then I got to talk about my career path and what I've done. When the interview ended, he said they were still interviewing and would let me know. I finished by highlighting my qualifications and how I could be a great asset with my drive and determination. He thanked me, and we left. I was surprised by the whole thing. Later, they did call to say they were going with someone with more experience, even though they'd initially considered me for Branch Manager based on my resume. I appreciated the call, though, as many companies don't follow up. I'd heard things about this company, but I wanted to see for myself, and it was definitely an unusual experience.
- Could you tell me about yourself?
- Can you describe your career path?
- What have you been working on recently?
Recruiter
I applied and got a call back super fast, like within 30 minutes, and they set up an in-person interview for that same week. I met with two women from a different department, and honestly, they weren't the nicest. They pretty much told me that my 3+ years of experience in staffing wasn't enough to handle answering emails.
- What is your reason for seeking a new position?
- Are you prepared to handle a high volume of emails?
