First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CAREER NOW BRANDS.
Designer
The process started with a phone interview, which went really well and then had a second interview a few days later - which also went great. The team seemed super nice and I really enjoyed my conversation with everyone I had a conversation with. I was told I would hear back within a week no matter whether I would be offered a position or not. I sent 2 follow-up emails over the course of a few weeks to the rep I had been in contact with and never received a single response after almost a month. This is incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful, especially after 2 promising interviews and such enthusiasm from those I interviewed with.
- Could you describe your background in the design industry, and share an example of a difficult situation you encountered and how you handled it?
- Tell me about your design experience and how you managed a challenging situation.
IT Operations Intern
Got a recruiter phone call first. Then, I had a phone call with the person I would be working for, and another person unexpectedly joined. The interview was supposed to be 30 mins but they ended it at 20 mins. I showed I was eager to learn, and since it's an internship, you learn everything, but they weren't into that.
- The questions were like finding a needle in a haystack.
- How would you approach fitting the maximum number of refrigerators possible into a building?
Paid Media Coordinator
I had a quick phone chat with the head of the team. Then I went into the office for my first interview, which was one on one. The questions were pretty normal, and I felt comfortable. They gave me an assessment test to check my experience. They got back to me within a week for a second interview with a panel of upper management to see if I'd fit the company culture. I got a job offer a few days later.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- Could you describe your best boss and explain what made working for them enjoyable?
Technical Business Analyst
The interview process felt really collaborative and enjoyable. The team created an atmosphere where it felt like a natural conversation, similar to how we might chat during everyday collaboration, although there were moments that required some deeper thinking and problem-solving.
- Tell me about a time you had to gather requirements and what steps you took.
- In a specific situation, how would you go about collecting requirements?
- What techniques do you employ for requirements elicitation?
