Inside Sales Representative
I was first contacted by an HR Manager at their HQ in Ohio who told me "your resume/experience makes you look like a perfect fit"; she arranged for me to meet with hiring managers at the Livonia, MI location. I noticed most of the sales people were young women. Was interviewed by the two, male managers. Talked with one, who had me sit with a guy who told me "I've been here longer than most of the others; more than two years now." The manager who sat me with him to listen to him on the phone had been there since it was 'Harvard Drugs'; said "yeah, this guys been here for 5 years or more". Later met with the second manager together with the first; they seemed to agree that with 6 or 7 years of previous phone sales experience - I should be able to learn to sell their veterinarian drug line easily enough. I noticed they were sketchy in describing terms of their employee health coverage, and initially seemed reluctant to be specific about pay. I was there for at least an hour. After having read bad reviews about working at 'Harvard Drug Group'; I asked one of them, "Would you say things have changed much here since 'Cardinal Health' took over 6 months ago?" He answered "No, things are much the same as they were before". The guy who's calls I listened to for a while said, "they did change some things about the various metrics our commissions are based on - we seem to be getting a bit more than before." They also had the absolute smallest cubicles to work in I'd ever seen.

Sales
The interview process was pretty laid back. I spoke with someone over the phone to set up a meeting in a public place, not the office. They asked really in-depth questions about different scenarios and how I'd handle them. The interview was quite long, but the interviewer was nice and easy to chat with.
- Can you tell me about your past work experience?
- Describe how you would approach a specific scenario.
- What actions would you take in a given situation?
Inside Sales Representative
You'll start with a 30/45 minute hiring screening call from HR or a recruiter to go over your background and qualifications. Then, you'll have a first round interview with two hiring managers who will ask you behavioral and situational questions. The final round is with a director and a supervisor for a team fit and culture check. The whole process was really casual and my favorite interview experience so far. They genuinely want to get to know you. Everyone I talked to asked great questions and gave great answers to mine.
- In three words, how would your coworkers describe you?
- How do you establish trust with clients?
- What is your reason for wanting to work at Cardinal Health?
