First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cardinal Health.
Customer Service Representative
I had a panel interview with 3 supervisors. They started by asking me to introduce myself before moving on to questions. One interviewer only explained the day-to-day work after I specifically asked; otherwise, it wasn't mentioned. I got the impression the interviewers weren't really paying attention or weren't interested in what I was saying because they seemed distracted (reading, typing, replying to messages, etc.) and weren't making eye contact. The interviewers took turns asking questions, which were likely provided by HR. The interview concluded with a condescending comment from one of the panel members.
- What are your reasons for wanting to apply for this position?
Customer Service Representative
First, a recruiter talked to me to get a feel for my work history and asked some general questions about whether the job, location, and pay worked for me. Then, I had a face-to-face interview a few days later. The staff was really nice, and the supervisor even had me listen in on a call. Afterwards, we went back to the office, and she asked about my past jobs and threw in a couple of scenario-based questions to check my attention to detail. Another supervisor joined us for a bit, and she was friendly too. I got the offer on Wednesday, after interviewing on Friday. My advice is to know about the company since they'll ask, and have your own questions ready because they like that.
- How have you handled a situation with a very angry customer in the past?
Customer Service Representative
I applied online. HR emailed me about a week later to set up a phone interview. After that one, another week passed, and I got invited for a second phone interview with the person I'd be reporting to. Then, a third phone interview happened with my prospective supervisor's boss. I received a job offer the very same day.
- Can you describe your approach to handling challenging customer interactions?

- What actions would you take if you experienced an internet outage while working from home?
