Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cardinal Health.

I had 4 total interviews with Cardinal Health. I also had internal recommendations from more than one employee. However, despite good interviews that seemed to go well, I did not receive any response for weeks. That is, until I emailed the recruiter. Why is it so difficult to simply send an email that says, "thanks, but no thanks"? How hard is it to have a form email ready to go? This is particularly bizarre when one considers that an internal reference was made. Instead of donating to the food pantry, how about treating applicants with basic courtesy and respect?
- Tell me about a project you led from beginning to end, highlighting any innovative ideas and cost savings achieved.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. I was told multiple times by the interviewer that I was moving on to the next round and that they were mentioning Glassdoor. Then, an hour later, I got an email saying I was rejected. I wish the interviewer had been upfront instead of making it seem like I would get a callback.
- Describe a project you managed from start to finish and its outcome.

I had a call with HR to set up interviews. We scheduled three 30-minute interviews. The first was with the hiring manager. The second was with two people I'd work with. The third was with a manager from another team I'd work with. All these interviews were about my current work at Cardinal and what the new role would require. Two weeks later, I had a final 30-minute interview with the Director of the team. It was pretty similar to the others. Two weeks after that, HR called with an offer.
- Considering your background and the role's requirements, what steps would you take to improve the current process?
