Research Assistant
The interview process was pretty straightforward, especially if you're familiar with your research field. They asked typical questions about your background, abilities, and past work. Overall, it was a really good experience and felt like a supportive place to be.
- Can you detail your experience relevant to this position?
Research Assistant
The interview process was well structured and a timeline was provided in advance. It was conducted by 4 senior scientists of the division and they provided feedback afterwards. The process was fair and I have nothing to complain about.
- Prepare a presentation about your previous research experience and results obtained.
- Questions based on your presentation and research experience.
Research Assistant
Shortly after the closing date, I received an interview invitation that even included travel expenses, which is always a nice touch. The interview itself was with a panel of three people: an admin person and two scientists, one of whom was the programme leader. It was a really relaxed and easy interview, no hard questions at all. They seemed more interested in just having a casual chat and getting to know me. They asked things like: Talk about your CV and how your experience fits the role. Give an example of a tough teamwork situation and your contribution. What would your co-workers say about you? About computing skills, especially Excel, and if I knew about Excel macros. What motivates you? What do you know about human papilloma virus? What are your career plans and objectives? Explain your understanding of the project you'd be involved in. Why are you applying for this job? They actually probed my reasons for applying, repeatedly asking about routine work. And my hobbies. Very predictable questions, all in all.
- Given that you're coming from a different research area, could you explain your interest in this topic and how your past experience makes you a good fit for this job?
