Account Manager
Something is off with this company. They have several jobs listings on several mediums like LinkedIn, Handshake. A recruiter reached out to me to discuss two different positions. One working in proposals and one as a recruiter. Both positions are listed on their website as being available to job seekers searching. After speaking with the first recruiter about both positions as if they were both available, I was put in contact with another recruiter who informed me that they only had a sales position open. No surprise. I decided to continue with the process and was told it could take up to two weeks to hear something regarding the next step in interviewing. Followed up two weeks later and the recruiter told me there had been no decisions and to follow up again. Followed up a week and a half later, still nothing. During that call I was told by the recruiter that they were waiting for positions to open and the length of time sometimes depends on the candidate and the team. Not sure what that even means. But the recruiter suggested I continue to call to check on any updates. Even though the recruiter was nice, the idea of any candidate excessively and repetitively calling and emailing is just ridiculous and unprofessional. If there’s an update or progress, it shouldn’t take me constantly reaching out to be informed of it. Sounds like they just like stringing candidates along. Never in my life has the responsibility been placed on me as the candidate to constantly badger about what’s next to an interested company. The recruiter mentioned that this is how they know that a candidate is still interested. I applied to the job, why wouldn’t I be interested? It reflects poorly on the company to keep a candidate wondering and calling to “check in”. Sounds fishy and schematic honestly. If you’re actually interested in a candidate, not only will you follow through on your word, but you would also ensure that they have a pleasant candidate experience. Avoid.
- What about the recruitment position interests you?
Account Manager
It was a really easy process, the recruiter was super helpful and everyone was nice. The interviews weren't repetitive, they asked basic questions about long-term goals. They usually hire about two weeks before the start date. I got an offer in the final interview.
- Why are you interested in working here?
Account Manager
It was a simple interview process, but it took a while and was kind of a drag. I had to meet with a few different people on the team. I got the offer a couple of days after meeting with four different people over two days of meetings. Mostly, the questions were just basic "get to know you" stuff.
- Tell me how your college experience prepared you for this job.
