Sales Leader
A recruiter from MK reached out to me about my current role and they pitched MK really well. They said the hiring process was fast, which was sort of true and also misleading. I gave the recruiter my email and the MK Store Manager emailed me the next day with a link to apply. I applied and set up an interview with the Store Manager. Based on the description, this role seemed like a lateral move. The interview with the Store Manager was very low-key, which struck me as odd, but I've had casual interviews before. After that, I had a Skype call with the District Manager. The questions weren't really about being a sales leader; they were more like 'What would you wear on a Saturday night?' and had nothing to do with how I use KPIs, coach associates, or my leadership style on the sales floor. The biggest thing though is that after the Tuesday Skype call, I waited to hear back. On Friday, I messaged the store manager for an update, knowing it was a holiday weekend and they were likely busy. She replied, saying she'd get back to me the following Tuesday. I never heard anything else.
- What would you wear out on a Saturday night?
- What is your personal style?
- Where do you find fashion trends?
Sales Supervisor
The interview process is long, with multiple interviews. Expect to answer questions multiple times to different people, as they seem to check for consistency in your answers. You also need to have multiple questions prepared for the interviewer. The experience felt intense but was also pretty laid back. From my experience in the role, if the conversation doesn't feel comfortable or natural, it's an automatic no. Instant rapport building is key for this job, and you need to stay on top of trends. Doing your research about the company, Michael Kors, and the product is really important and will definitely give you an advantage.
- What do you do in your free time?
- Describe your leadership style for a team.
- How have you achieved your goals in the past?
Sales Assistant
The interview was very pleasant and friendly. They asked for examples of sales techniques and how to handle customer service. It's heavily focused on customer service, the shop environment, and your behavior towards customers. They asked about my previous experiences and about myself. It felt more like a casual chat between friends than a formal job interview. They are looking for people who are active, energetic, smiling, and fluent in English at a minimum.
- Could you describe what customer service means to you?
