First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capri Holdings.
Sales Associate
I interviewed for a sales associate position. They asked general sales questions, like about going above and beyond, and how I'd handle an angry customer. They also checked my availability. At the end, I got a full-time offer, but I couldn't accept because of my schedule. The store manager mentioned she might have a part-time role opening up next month, but I'd need to change my hair color back to something natural. My current hair is ombré (dark brown to blonde), and they said I needed to have black hair. It was disappointing that a big company like Michael Kors seems to have old-fashioned ideas about hair color, which is a deal-breaker for me.
- Can you share an instance where you exceeded expectations?
- How would you manage a situation with an upset customer?
Sales Associate
I went in there, and it seems they were pretty disorganized. I waited about 10 minutes and the store manager took me in the back room. She asked me questions about myself, what my plans for the future were and what made me want to work for Michael Kors. The manager seems pretty enthusiastic and engaging. In the end, she said she'll get in touch with me for a second interview (which is an interactive interview that involves picking out clothes for customers), so will see if she actually gets back to me on that. However, the entire interview went pretty smooth and the questions were fair.
- Tell me about your previous experience in retail.
- Are you currently attending school, and what is your major?
- Can you share an instance where you exceeded expectations to help a customer?
Sales Associate
I applied online and heard back the next day about an interview. It was a group interview with a manager, lasting about 20-30 minutes. Then there was an interactive part where they wanted to see if I knew the merchandise, had style, and could interact with customers. SN: Show up 30min early and check out the store so you know what's there to make the interactive part easier for you. After that, I was asked back for a second interview the next day. They asked similar basic questions, and I got the offer the day after that.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What makes you want to work at MK and what value can you add to the company?
- What are your strengths and areas for improvement?
