First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capitol Technology University.
Associate Director of Admissions
The interview process is usually 3 steps. You start with a phone screening, then a group interview with other department members, and finally an in-person interview where you might have to do a mock presentation. Since you already had the job, it wasn't too tough.
- What are your 3-year career aspirations?
- What makes you the best candidate for this role?
- Can you tell me about your relevant background and experience?
Adjunct Faculty
Interviewed with the department head, then the dean. Got the offer after the second interview. HR was clumsy and disorganized, and onboarding was messy.
- Can you tell me about your qualifications?
- What makes you want to work at this institution?
- How would you describe your technology skills? Can you give me some examples?
Director of Communications
I have never been interviewed by such kind, genuine, and caring people in my entire career. The staff at Capitol Tech is an absolute delight, and I was never treated more kindly. I can't say enough good things about these people and I know anyone who has the honor and privilege of working with them will be richly blessed.
- What subject would you teach if you had the choice?
Dean
The interview process was arduous, and the questions were unrelated to the position. During the onsite interview, many inappropriate comments were made and several references to ageism bias. Many of the male members of the interview team were antagonistic.
- One male member of the group asked me about the University of Phoenix losing VA funds a long time ago. I did not work there during that time, and it had nothing to do with academics.
