So the interview process involved a few steps. First, there was an HR interview, then I had a one-on-one with a Vice President. The final stage was a case study where I presented to a Managing Consultant, who reviewed it. I had about 30-45 minutes to prepare my presentation for the case study. The whole thing took about 3 weeks to complete.

The recruiter wants to understand your academic background, work experiences, and reasons for joining the company. They are particularly interested in your appeal for digital transformation and innovation consulting, which is central to Capgemini Invent's work. The discussion then moves to your skills and soft skills. The recruiter aims to assess your analytical skills, problem-solving approach, and your abilities in communication and teamwork. They might also ask about stress management and adapting to a demanding professional environment. A significant part of the interview focuses on your motivations. It's crucial to clearly explain why you want to join Capgemini Invent, what attracts you to consulting, and how this internship fits into your career plans.

Had a quick phone call with HR to see if I was eligible and ask basic stuff like salary expectations. Then, if they liked my CV, I'd move on to a Senior Consultant. They then set up an hour-long interview with a Consultant team member focusing on me and my CV. After that, it was a group case study to assess teamwork. The final stage was a 30-minute "fit" interview with a Senior Partner to check if I matched the company culture. The whole thing felt like a waste of time. I applied in April, had the first call two weeks later, and then heard nothing until late July when they suddenly wanted another interview in two weeks. That went okay, so I got invited to a group interview a month later (in September). The group interview is really down to luck; if you get good people, you pass, if not, you fail. Luckily, my group was competent, and a week later, I was put forward for the final interview. It seemed to go well, though the senior partner mentioned their consulting department was basically anarchy. Then he dropped the bomb that the role was actually Senior Consultant/Management Consultant, and he wasn't sure if I had the experience, even after I'd passed all stages. I haven't received any feedback, even after emailing the recruitment team who offered to help. A pointless exercise. They should advertise the actual job and not waste people's time by passing them to the final round if they don't think they're suitable, and stop ghosting when feedback is requested. Terrible experience, wouldn't recommend them. If their consulting is as bad as their recruitment, Invent deserves its reputation.
