First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capelli NY.
Graphic Artist
It started with a quick call from HR, then I had a zoom interview with the EVP of the division, and after that, there was an in person interview with both the EVP and the CEO.
- Could you tell me about your background?
- What are your career aspirations?
- What relevant skills do you possess for this role?
Designer
The interview process was quite efficient and organized. I had the chance to speak with various members of the Capelli NY team, including people from different seniority levels. We conducted the interviews in a private room, separate from the main workspace. The pace of the interview felt unhurried. My only hiccup was that they started 20 minutes later than scheduled, so I had to wait a bit. Despite that, I received a prompt response from them afterward. While the overall experience was positive, the role itself didn't quite align with my expectations, so I sought other opportunities shortly after.
- Can you discuss your educational background?
- Could you walk me through your previous work experience?
Production Assistant
It was tough to get a hold of them to schedule my interview time, which is unusual as most places get back to me within a few hours. I can't recall much about the actual interview itself, other than how cold the interviewer was and the general vibe of the office. It was quite a long interview. I do clearly remember my interviewer being dishonest when I asked why the position had opened up, which was a first for me. It was super obvious that the last person quit and she just didn't want to admit it.
- What did you dislike most about your previous internship with [designer's name]?
- Can you explain the reason for this position becoming vacant?
Sales Assistant
The interview was really good. The HR specialist was professional and described the interview process and grading criteria. The company's strengths, foundation, and growth were well explained. It's a good idea to research salary offerings to see if a counter-offer is possible. Selling yourself effectively is key to a successful interview, which can be easy for some and challenging for others.
- In five years, where do you envision yourself?
