First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Capchase.
Financial Associate
Started with an intro call with a recruiter, then a call with the hiring manager. After that, there was a week-long technical case study. This was followed by a call with someone currently in the role, and it all wrapped up with another call with the recruiter to go over the details.
- How do you approach determining a viable investment?
Product Manager
I had an initial chat with someone from talent acquisition, and it was a good conversation, though she initially sent the wrong meeting invite. After we talked, she mentioned she'd set up time for me to connect with product team members to dive deeper and 'talk shop.' A few days went by with no follow-up, so I sent an email, but got no reply. Then, two more weeks passed, and I never heard back. Honestly, it felt pretty unprofessional.
- Can you discuss your previous work history?
- What are your reasons for working at smaller companies?
- Walk me through a product you have developed from start to finish.
Software Engineering Manager
The people team reached out to me, but we had to reschedule our initial conversation three times due to their errors. After finally speaking with the recruiter, I was informed the role was a fit for an Engineering Manager. However, two days later, I received an email stating there was another error and the position was actually for a Software Engineer. I decided to continue with the process, and a 3-hour interview was scheduled. When I joined the call, no one was present. After waiting 40 minutes, I was told the first interviewer wouldn't make it. The second interviewer then informed me the interview was for an SRE role, not Development. At that point, I withdrew from the process due to the significant disorganization. It's a shame, as the company seems solid.
- Provide a theoretical explanation and a documented example of how to handle challenges related to databases.
Vice President of Marketing
Because I got a referral to the CEO from an investor, the interview process was pretty informal. The interviews with the founders were engaging and dynamic. The CEO had posted about culture, but some things during the interviews contradicted their stated values, especially around recruiting. I noticed this in just a few interviews, which makes me think it's a bigger issue. Companies that talk a lot about culture often have a bad one. After a few rounds, I was totally ghosted by the CEO and HR.
- Could you provide an overview of your recent work experience?
- What is your perspective on category creation?
- What questions do you typically ask when interviewing candidates for your team?
