First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Canyon View Credit Union.
Financial Services Representative
They contacted me the day after I applied. First, an HR interview, then an in-branch interview if I passed the HR part. They did a background and credit check. It was a very simple and easy process overall. Questions were general and mostly about my experience.
- Tell me about your sales experience.
Member Services Representative
The interview process was pretty simple. The person interviewing me was really nice and made me feel super comfortable. It felt more like we were just chatting than a formal interview. There were some tricky questions, but I managed to get the job by relating them back to myself and my experiences. Most of the questions were standard interview stuff.
- Can you explain how you would handle the specific duties of this role?
- How do you think you would be a good fit for this job?
Loan Officer
Got a quick response after applying. The managers were nice during the interview. Everything seemed to go well, and my experience matched the job. I thought I clicked with them. But a week later, the manager said I didn't get the job but they'd keep my info for future roles. They seemed genuine about it. This same job popped up again a few times while I was waiting to hear back, which makes me feel like I was misled or given false hope. I do appreciate getting a decision from a manager, which is better than many companies. However, if you're hiring, be straight with people. If they aren't a fit, just say so kindly, and maybe offer tips for improvement. Being misled is way worse than hearing the truth. The hiring managers were pleasant, but hopefully, this helps them improve.
- Can you tell me about your background with loans?
- Describe how you would transfer a loan from a different financial institution.
Loan Officer
The people were easy to talk to, very outgoing. It was a 30 minute interview and I heard back in a couple days. Just typical interview questions. Make sure you know about the company and its history beforehand.
- Can you tell me about yourself and what you are passionate about?
