Marketing
The interview process was disorganized, unprofessional, and a waste of my time. The initial interviews went well, but then the CEO became disengaged due to other commitments. They also asked for a project without giving enough details to complete it effectively, which is an outdated practice. To make matters worse, they never scheduled a follow-up to discuss the project. It was a very frustrating experience overall, and I lost interest in working there within a couple of weeks.

Operations Specialist
Applied for a job and got an email to set up a phone call. The call went well and a few hours after the call ended, they emailed to set up a call with the hiring manager. I had the call with the hiring manager and then after not hearing anything for 6 days, I emailed my contact asking for an update. My contact responded a few hours later (it was a Monday) saying that they were hoping to get back to me by the middle or end of the next week. Two weeks passed and I didn't hear anything so I emailed my contact asking for an update. It's been crickets since I sent that email. It's been 50 days since the phone call with the hiring manager and 44 days since I've heard from anyone at Canvas. I have no problem getting rejected but I would have hoped they had the decency and professionalism to at least send me a form rejection email after having two phone calls with them. Definitely left me with a negative impression of the company.

Recruiter
It started with a quick video screen with the head of People. Then, I went in person to their office for 5 sessions, each 30 minutes long with different department heads. There was also a 30-minute lunch break. It felt pretty conversational, even though some interviewers seemed unprepared and I had to guide the discussion. The team was very upfront and communicative, getting back to me within a day or two after both the video and in-person interviews.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
- What specifically about Canvas interests you?
- Can you discuss your technical experience in relation to this role?
Support Manager
The first interview was good. They were very clear about what they need and excited that I have all the skills and more. Second interview seemed even more excited about my skill set. Told me I was the only one with the general knowledge they were looking for. Two days later I was rejected. Probably because of my age since I’m not fresh out of college.
- Can you describe KPI systems you have utilized and your approach to measuring metrics?
- Tell me about your experience with KPI systems and how you measure metrics.
