It was a 3 step interview process. The company was very professional during the interviews. The first step was an interview with the recruiting team. The next step was an interview with the hiring manager, which lasted about 1 hour. Lastly, there was a meeting with the team. I did not get hired because there were too many applicants.

Applied online and went through three interviews all virtually. The first was with the recruiter who seemed really positive and made comments that there were several branch leaders who would definitely want me. The second interview was with two branch leaders who I would work for if selected, and the final one was with the regional manager and another person. The interview times were not chosen by me and some were really difficult to make during the work day. The conversations with the recruiter were overly positive throughout the experience and very misleading seeing that I was not chosen. I reached out to the recruiter for any feedback so that I can better myself for the future, and there were crickets. It doesn’t seem as though Canvas actually appreciates it’s applicants.

Finding a job can be overwhelming, and this job description's headline about tag-team interviews really hit home. The experience was just like that. I went through 3 interviews total, with the final one being in-person and a tag-team with the hiring manager watching. It was dizzying. The first interview was a video call with a recruiter. Five days later, I had a video interview with the hiring manager. Twenty days after that, there was a tag-team interview with the rest of the team. Twenty-nine days after the final interview, I got a decision phone call. This whole thing was a brutal experience. I don't think I would have gotten a final call without constantly following up. During the interviews, I mentioned I'd lost my housing and was eager to get back to work so I could find a place for my daughter and me. A few days after my final interview, I emailed the recruiter, but got an out-of-office reply. My heart sank because I might miss the deadline for my daughter to move with me, and she'd have to enroll in school out of state. Another recruiter called back and said no decision had been made yet, and it would take another 3 weeks to get an answer. My only feedback for the recruiter is that asking a homeless man for patience requires empathy. I gave this process my all and could have respected the outcome more if I'd been respected at all. This experience has made me step back from the job market to do gig work while I figure out if I should change career paths or even stay in this state. It's disappointing how my view of this banking institution has diminished.

I had FOUR interviews with Canvas Credit Union, and then was completely ghosted by the branch manager and recruiter. They pretend to care about candidates, but it's the opposite. Unlike other companies, Canvas gives you false hope during interviews, telling you about benefits even if they aren't interested. I'm not upset about not getting the job, but because I wasn't told I didn't get it after FOUR interviews and was ghosted. This shows their work ethic. If you want an honest company, don't apply here. Canvas Credit Union is just like regular banks with bad customer service, disrespecting job seekers' time.
