I interviewed at Cantor Colburn recently and felt really good about it, like I had the job. It's been a week and I haven't heard back, which is surprising. The benefits were great, especially since I'm single, and I really wanted to work for this law firm! Does anyone know if they usually take a long time to respond? Maybe they are running a background check? I'm just surprised because I felt so confident I had the job.

The interview process started with a bit of a wait with the receptionist. Then, I was taken to a cubicle and given a Word and Excel test, but it was hard to focus because of a personal phone call happening nearby. The interview itself was short and felt awkward. I was told my work would be constantly reviewed until I 'got it,' and I was asked if I could handle criticism well.

The interview process was very brief and simple. An HR person asked some basic screening questions. I talked about my background and expertise. My resume clearly showed I had the experience and technical background needed for CC. However, I was told I didn't have enough experience for the role, even though it required 5 years and I had 9 years as a Patent Attorney and 5.5 years as a Patent Examiner. When I asked the HR assistant for more feedback, she said I lacked sufficient experience in patent prosecution, which was strange since I had 14.5 years of experience in that area! They ended up hiring a male attorney with less than 5 years of experience, a less impressive background, and no PTO experience.

The interview process was pretty standard. They'll ask you some general questions about your background. It's important to show you're really into intellectual property law. Yeah, the process was just average, with general background questions, and they want to see you're passionate about intellectual property law.
