Behavioral Technical

I had a good first phone chat with a recruiter who was super nice and the interview was easy. Then I went to their office for an in-person interview with the hiring manager. We had a good talk, and they were really friendly and explained the health benefits and pay. I felt good about it. The recruiter sent some really enthusiastic messages saying things like "She LOVED you," "I'm so excited for you," and "Can't wait to continue the process." But then, it got weird. Even though I sent nice thank-you notes, I heard nothing back. Weeks passed with no news. Then they sent this weird employment survey, saying it wasn't for the hiring process but would be used if I got the job. The recruiter just vanished from LinkedIn after messaging me a lot. After more weeks of silence, I got an automatic rejection email. It's a bummer. It started out so promising, but the communication was bad and it felt disrespectful to be ghosted like that after all the excitement. We're all people, no need to get someone's hopes up just to disappear. I hope Canteen can do better and treat applicants with more respect.

The interview process was quite straightforward. The main things they cared about were whether I could pass the background and drug test, and if I had prior experience driving a box truck. I completed the drug test the following day, and I was able to start working the next week.

Behavioral Case Other

It was pretty chill, mostly a casual chat that went for about an hour with some questions thrown in. The questions felt a bit generic, like they were just pulled off a website without much thought. Some were hypothetical and didn't really make sense for a CSR role. They said they needed a month to interview folks, which was fine, but it actually took them a month and a half to get back to me, which was a long wait. That long wait says a lot about how management operates.

Behavioral Technical Other

The interview scheduling was handled by an AI virtual assistant, which was okay but didn't provide info on who I'd meet. The first interview was virtual on Teams with two people who didn't introduce themselves or their roles, so I had to ask a lot to figure it out. The second interview was on-site, again scheduled by the virtual assistant, but I got no details on parking or where to go, and the assistant couldn't help. In the meeting, one person was in person and another joined virtually, and again, no introductions or explanations of their roles relative to mine. It felt like a weird experience, and it became clear I wasn't a cultural or role fit based on my questions and the ones I had to ask. About a month later, I got an automated rejection email.
