The initial interview with the company Recruiter went well, lasting about an hour. We discussed my skills and how the role aligned with my current responsibilities. However, Cano Health then ghosted me. As an experienced professional interviewing for a VP of Operations position, I found this to be a classless act, especially since my follow-up email for an update received no response, not even a standard rejection email. This experience makes it clear that Cano Health is not the place for me. In my current role as Regional Ops Director, I've instructed my Recruiters to never ghost candidates after at least the first interview, as it creates a negative first impression and could deter future applicants.

It took about a month from the first contact until the in-person interview. My interviewer was surprised to see me because the manager I was going to report to quit after only two weeks, which caused a delay. During this period, HR gave me an estimated salary. After the in-person interview, they offered me the job but with a 30% lower salary than what HR had mentioned, even though the interviewer admitted I had the experience and skills for the role. I suggest getting a confirmed salary range upfront before agreeing to more interviews. I declined the offer because of the salary discrepancy, and the interviewer seemed annoyed when I counter-offered. Make sure everything is clear from the start to avoid wasting your time.

The interview process started with an HR representative, followed by a meeting with the direct supervisor, and concluded with the head of the department. The entire process was very well-organized and had a friendly atmosphere. They were very helpful in clearing up any doubts and provided detailed explanations of all the key aspects of the job description.
