I was referred by HR and had an initial interview with the implementation leader, which I felt went well. After not hearing back for several weeks, I followed up via email. The contact responded, stating that things were progressing towards my next interview. Another week passed, and then I was informed that the job description was changing and asked if I was still interested. After that, I was completely ghosted. I know three people who previously worked for this company, and they all left within a year, citing a toxic workplace as their reason. So, perhaps it was for the best that I was ghosted. Nevertheless, it's not a good way to treat people, and I'm disappointed.

I reached out to them. First, I had an interview with the hiring manager. Then, I had a few more rounds with engineers and designers on the same team, and finally, HR. It was a pretty standard process, nothing out of the ordinary.

I was really hoping this would be a good fit after seeing Dr. Olopade's platform and mission, thinking it was a consulting-meets-healthcare vibe, but it wasn't. The person interviewing me seemed like an intern based on LinkedIn. It was weird because Glassdoor says a CSM makes about $98k, so why was an intern doing the initial phone screen? I doubt they could answer any industry or business questions. It felt really informal. When I asked questions at the end, the answers were not great. I asked why they decided to hire a CSM, and the intern didn't really know, saying it was just an initial screen. I also asked about the role's metrics, like retention or CLTV and success planning, and any business objectives. The intern just said they're looking for someone motivated and excited because they're growing. I was disappointed and felt like my time was wasted. The interview started with the intern giggling and shuffling papers, followed by a long pause before a weak 'walk me through your resume.' It's a shame because the company's mission aligns with my values, but the vetting process was really poor for a pioneer in genetic testing and cancer prevention. I hope this feedback helps, as there's a big opportunity being missed. Candidate vetting should be more informed, experienced, and professional to show you respect their time.

Behavioral Case

Got excited about the company and product from an informational session and did my own research on the industry. Applied online and got a phone screen soon after. The screening included standard background and situational questions, plus a review of my resume. Right after that, I got a case study to complete in a week. I was out of town but managed to finish it on time. I haven't heard back since submitting the assessment, which is disappointing because I was really looking forward to this opportunity. My advice is to let candidates know if they aren't a good fit, especially after they've made it far in the process.
