I went to the store in December 2015 to ask for a job. A customer service associate took my resume. After about a month and a half, a manager called me. They asked about my goals, how long I wanted to work, and which department I was interested in. This call lasted about twenty minutes, and they asked me to come in the next weekend for a personal interview. I had a good interview with the manager, and the questions were relevant to the job. They told me to wait a week or two. I called them after a week, and they asked me to come in the following weekend to discuss responsibilities further. I got the job that weekend. I then had to complete an online computer course with at least ten chapters within two weeks from their university. After finishing, I had to inform them, and my training started the next week, depending on when I finished the course.

I went to the store and got an application. I asked about working there and they said it was fine. I returned the application the same day. A few days later, they called me for an interview the next day. We had a good chat and they explained the job. They asked me some easy questions. Then they gave me a shirt and I went to a checkout stand and stood behind an employee. They asked if I wanted to try it, so I worked the cash register for about half an hour with the employee helping me. She was very helpful and kind. They offered me the job on the spot and I started the next day. I think I got the job because I was willing to learn their system, work a lot of hours during the holidays, my past sales experience, and my calm, friendly attitude. They also needed people for Christmas sales. It's a great place to work when it's busy, you get lots of hours. After the holidays, hours decrease significantly for new employees.

The entire interview was conducted in French. I was asked about my education, my childhood aspirations, and my long-term life goals. They also inquired about my reasons for choosing Canadian Tire and what I hoped to achieve there. Additionally, they asked about my prior work experience, the jobs I've held, and the specific skills required for those roles.
