Case Manager
The interview process felt really welcoming. They seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me as a person, not just assessing my skills to see if I'd fit in with the team, because they believe skills can be taught.
- How would you approach a difficult customer?
Manager
I went through 4 interviews with Canada Life. It started with HR, then a chat with the Hiring Manager. After that, I got a case study to do and then present to the hiring team. The last interview was with another manager on the team. While most people were friendly, the last manager seemed to doubt my abilities even though I did and presented the case study well. He even suggested I had help, which was pretty off-putting. Unsurprisingly, I didn't get an offer. Honestly, after investing about 4 hours plus the case study time, I'd at least expect an email confirming I didn't get the job.
- Describe how you would manage a project.
Claims Manager
I was first contacted by the regional manager for a phone call. Then I was sent a personality test with about 100 questions, including an IQ test component. It was pretty simple and took about 30-60 minutes. About a week later, the regional manager called me to set up an in-person interview at the office. I met with the regional manager and team manager. The interview was focused on behavioral questions about quick thinking, innovative problem-solving, and managing conflict. The questions weren't directly about the job tasks but required examples that should relate to the job.
- Describe a situation where you had to bend the rules to accomplish a task.
