Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a three-step interview process, each on a separate day. First, a recruiter call for 30 minutes. Then, a 30-minute meeting with the hiring manager. Finally, a 60-minute meeting with the Director, Hiring Manager, and 3 Software Developers. The recruiter asked about my background, goals, and pay expectations. The hiring manager wanted to talk about my past accomplishments and overall technical skills. They told me about the company's tech stack and asked about my past experiences that might be similar and a good fit. The last part involved a 10-15 minute technical presentation I prepared. The remaining 45 minutes were for them to ask questions about the presentation and other technical topics.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • The technical presentation was a new experience but turned out to be great, evolving into a professional conversation to get to know each other.
  • This approach is much better than the typical way of asking random, sometimes obscure technical questions to test candidates.

Presentation Technical Behavioral

The interview process was quick from start to offer, but it felt thorough with good introductions. It included a 10-minute presentation on a technical topic I was comfortable explaining and answering questions about. The first round was with a recruiter, the second with the director of engineering, and the third involved an hour of technical questions and the presentation.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you present on a topic you have technical experience with?
  • What is the technical flow when a client makes a request from their browser?

Behavioral Coding

I had a first call with a recruiter from Campspot and they seemed really into me. Then I talked to the CTO and again the recruiter said it went super well. After that, I had a chat with some of the engineers on the team, which was fine. They told me the next step was a take-home assignment, but it took them a week to actually send it over. I was expecting to go over the code with them, but after I finished it and spent a few hours on it, they just told me to submit it and they'd let me know. About two weeks later, they told me I didn't get the job.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • General questions about career, past experience, and how you'd handle specific project tasks.
  • A four hour coding assignment to be completed at home.
