First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Camp Kesem.
Outreach Coordinator
You'll probably have to fill out an online application using something like Google Forms, with about 5-6 essay or short answer questions. If that goes well, you'll move on to a short interview (under 30 minutes) with the Directors. (This is an unpaid position for students.)
- How would you handle conflict within a team?
Camp Counselor
After submitting your application, there was a standard interview. The interview was all about your past experiences, had some "what if" questions, and other stuff. They really cared about DEI and how you'd help campers with special needs.
- Can you explain what DEI means and its significance?
Camp Counselor
The interview had a mix of situational and informative questions. It was generally easy, with a couple of unusual but not impossible questions. Two people were present, one asked the questions and the other took notes.
- How would you assist a blind camper in joining a game of kickball?
Program Director
It was a really thorough interview process with several rounds. First, I had a 1:1 with a manager. Then, I did a mock student call to see how I'd handle the day-to-day tasks. Finally, there was an HR/logistics call.
- What's your strategy for handling student pushback when a new idea or rule is implemented by Kesem National?
