So you'll have a few chats with the management team. They're cool with doing interviews over Zoom or in person. You'll start with HR, and then the inside sales team will take over. They do panel interviews, so expect to talk to at least two people at once. There might be a third interview with other sales team members too.

The interviews were pretty basic, mostly asking about my interest in the job and any previous training I had. It's worth noting they don't really like questions about how they train new hires because they expect candidates to come in with all the necessary knowledge and skills already. After two sets of interviews, I wasn't even told whether they were moving forward. I had to reach out to the third-party recruiter to find out they weren't interested after the first interview. I've seen other reviews mentioning similar issues with not hearing back from Cameron Ashley if they aren't proceeding, which is disappointing, especially from a company that claims to be a 'family business' and emphasizes 'customer experience'.

I was contacted through LinkedIn by the Talent Acquisition Manager. Initially, it was a positive experience when we had a discussion on the phone and some employment assessments were sent. Communication completely broke down after that, where you were told that you would interview with others the next day; after three weeks and many excuses later, those interviews never happened, so I passed on continuing with the process. It seems that they don't know what they're doing there regarding interviewing people, and if they struggle with that, it’s a red flag on how the rest of the business is run. I've never been drug along for about a month, where what you're being told never comes to fruition. Potential candidates, be aware of a company that doesn't meet commitments, provides inconsistent communication and doesn't value your time.

So I had a recruiter call and then two video interviews with the hiring manager. They were super encouraging, like, I thought I had it in the bag. The recruiter said he'd let me know either way, but then, radio silence. Same from the hiring manager, even after I emailed for an update. I only found out through a neighbor that the job was filled. It's pretty wild they didn't just send a quick email to let me know they went with someone else, especially after all the prep I did. It's a bummer because it made me lose respect for the company, not about not getting the job, but the lack of basic communication. If this is how they treat candidates, I can only imagine how they treat employees.
