It was a 3-interview process that took place over 3 weeks. First week was a face to face interview. Second week was a screening. Third week I had to do a test project and then explain the project to a senior developer to show my skills and explain what I did.

It was a board room style interview. I sat in a room with multiple people, which I liked because they were Team Leaders and Regional Leaders. They didn't introduce themselves at first, but did after asking a couple questions. You got to know people from different backgrounds related to the job. It seemed like a team decision to hire me, like a family. They wanted another interview face-to-face, but I couldn't do it, so we spoke on the telephone.

Group Behavioral

I went through two interviews for this role. The first was a group interview with other teachers, which felt pretty awkward for everyone involved. I thought my answers went well because I was prepared. Then, I was invited for a second interview with the principal. I had to wait a bit because it seemed like he forgot I was coming. When I got to his office, there wasn't a table to put my portfolio on, making it a little uncomfortable. I think it went okay, maybe not as strong as the first one. I sent a thank you note, but never heard back about the outcome, and the job is still listed. I found that to be pretty rude.

I met with the Principal, VP, and head teacher at the new Therapeutic Day School. They asked me to talk about myself, both for work and in my personal life. We then discussed my knowledge of students with IEPs and how I understand accommodations. We also talked about the school's vision and how I could help make it successful.

  • Are you familiar with current technologies and AACs, and can you suggest ways to use them to engage students with diverse needs?
